Busan is Korea’s principal port and second largest city. It is the primary port for ferry service to Japan and is the gateway to the Hallyeo Maritime National Park and its picturesque island.As an international port city with a population of 3.8 million, Busan has first-class hotels and restaurants to match its excellent beaches, outstanding shopping and sightseeing areas.

Gyeongju was the capital of the Silla Kingdom for 1,000 years and the valley in which it is situated Has a great concentration of historical buildings, temples and artifacts. After Silla unified the Peninsula in 676, the city developed into one of the world’s major cultural centers. The area is trulyA museum without walls due to the wealth of historical buildings and treasures.

Bulguksa Temple

Bulguksa Temple is one of Korea’s best known temples, is a testimony to both the skills of Silla Architects and the depth of Buddhist faith. While most of the wooden buildings have been rebuilt Over the centuries, all the stone bridges, stairways and pagodas are original. The temple, originally Built in 535, was enlarged in 752. In 1995, Bulguksa temple and Seokguram Grotto were added to UNESCO’s prestigious World Cultural Heritage list.

Cheonmachong (Heavenly Horse Tomb)

Tumuli park, a collection of royal Silla tombs from the Pre-unification era, is located in the middle of Gyeongju. The park contains 23 of more than 200 royal tombs that were found in Gyeongju. The Cheonmachong as excavated in 1974 and yielded more than 10,000 treasures. There treasures including a golden crown and a girdle, are in the Gyeongju National Museum. The tomb itself is open for viewing, providing visitors with an opportunity to see ow the huge tombs were constructed and how the various items were arranged in them.
